C H A I The elixir for a traveller in India. Diversity has posed a threat to the Indian identity but simply a cup of this elixir can lift the curtain of disunity. The size of the glass and the colour of the chai--- flares the sense of belongingness to a nation known for tea lovers. Best part is--- the bill remains 10 INR from Kashmir- Kanyakumari and from Gugariyana- kibithu.  Indeed we find uniformity in this amidst the differences. P.S. If you are a wanderlust and set you foot into Indian soil, do have a sip of this elixir. Feel like an Indian, drink like an Indian and pee like an Indian. Small tea stalls is where you'll find the elixir. Savour the flavour and pour out the flair while you travel. A Lot More Can Happen Over A Cup Of Tea In India.

Food for aspiring Writers

“Writers do not merely reflect and interpret life,  they inform and shape life”. We might have a cluster of different reasons why we write. For some it might be for leisure or fun, for another it might be a window or a gateway from the tyranny of darkness to light, for self-exploration, or as a form of expressing things we cannot express verbally, or you just simply love writing. There is an explosion of writing tips to aspiring writers and here are some of them which  I have dug that are essentially helpful to me. The list isn’t exhaustive. If you are an aspiring writer here’s a treat for you:     1.   Read as much as possible. Do not just read during your leisure. Keep reading in your daily schedule. This is the best and undeniable way to learn how to write.    Read outside of your comfort zone. Confining yourself to one genre will limit your style of writing.  2.   Pay attention to the world; to life. What you see and experience in life will be ac

The gift of simple life.

I cried out to the heavens asked about fairness. . . I asked about the definition of life. I turned around and found this two lazing in the shade outside the metro station. I asked them if I can take a picture of them. Their face shone as they noded. As I was walking away from them deep inside of me there was a longing to be like them. There was something in them that I don't have. There was freedom in them. They don't have much and they don't know much. They don't need much. There was a freedom in their today and freedom in their tomorrow. They will simply live. They don't have to worry about fulfilling a complicated big dream. They just wanted shade and they found a pillar. They didn't want an Air conditioner. Such is their simple existence unlike mine. I know why life looks unfair. But who am I to talk about fairness. Life isn't unfair at all.  Also there can be no single definition of life. How is it possible that my definition of life can fit theirs

A rare encounter in the wild.

Image
A rare encounter in the wild. . . This kept me thinking. This is Datura metel as can be called by Botanist. I struggled to hold it in my hand becos' of its outer protection by its thorns. I say "Don't be an easy target. Its okay you don't have to be called as a flower or a butterfly. In fact, have thorns, lots of them on the outside. Let anyone who holds you get stung millions of time. If its meant to be that person will stay no matter what. With bruises in his or her hand that person's going to hold you and cling on to you. Everyone need not have to like you. Be a rare encounter in the wild for someone." I am often asked by my friends 'why are you still alone?'. I say, 'My hands are still soft. I haven't met my thorns'. P. s. This plant seem to have a lot of medicinal applications. Specially its seeds inside. Toshiwapang O Longkumer

Power of Imagination.

Image
Imagination is more powerful than knowledge. Its the basis of all dreams that became a reality. Its just a matter of time that this imagination sprouts into a reality. This goes out to all whose imagination never stops. I say, "Create things inside your mind that does not exist. Light your world with your imagination. Work on it; share. The world we live in feeds and grows on imagination. Who said humans cannot fly? Imagination took us to the air. Who said we cannot walk on water? We have ships today, imagination took us there. Who said a dumb cannot speak? we have sign language, imagination made it possible. Imagination will take us to the place where no one has ever stepped on. Keep your eyes above the ground. Use your senses to conspire to find your way in creating the unknown. Capture people with your imagination. Chisel your way into the world with it. As for me my pencil and my white paper is the extension of my imagination. What's yours?"... Toshiwapang O

Your story is who you are!!!

Who you are!!! Everybody dreams of dream they want to live in. Based on that dream we build our world and in fact work to become the protagonist of that world. You may be an engineer who builds anything, a doctor who saves millions of lives, a singer who touches so many lives with your voice, a writer who have sold millions of copies, a fire fighter who have dedicated your live for the service of mankind, etc. etc. But in the midst of all that we are more than what we achieve and do. We all have a thing in common and which many of us seem to value less and that thing is we are all story tellers. We are telling a story of ourselves every moment of our lives. We are telling this unique story by way of living and how we are living. My question is how are we telling our story? Is our story a good story or a bad one? Our next neighbor is witnessing our story and is being affected in different ways. Our next neighbor could be our siblings, a friend, parents, a stranger or anyone with wh

Withering away

Withering away I was lost deeply tangled with solitude Battling my way out, It was then when I found you. Gladly I surrendered to your serene beauty That beauty was transcending the physical. Then I found myself speaking with my heart; I was honest to my feelings Candid in letting it flow; Whenever I met you my heart whinnied, almost skipping a beat I have longed long enough for this feeling I felt. Day by day I was nearing to you moving farther away from myself Unmindful of the consequences it would yield. To my utter surprise you seemed to be eluding; I paid attention, I calculated, I searched And I was right. You never wanted to exchange your heart. My hopes whittled My dreams doomed, I was stripped off the ecstasy I once owned; A friend or little more you took me, I took you as my lady love. I am lost yet again.                                         -Toshiwapang O Longkumer
